    ### NZD/USD Resistance and Support Analysis In October, the New Zealand Dollar (NZD) had varying performances against major currencies. It did well against the Japanese Yen but saw a decline against the US Dollar, Euro, and others. The heat map shows how currencies changed against each other during the month. The USD rose by 1.09% against the Euro, while the NZD fell by 1.33% against the USD. Christian Borjon Valencia wrote this analysis for FXStreet. This indicates a bearish sentiment, with sellers dominating below the important resistance level of 0.5754. The outlook for the coming weeks seems to lean towards further declines. The Reserve Bank of New Zealand (RBNZ) has maintained its Official Cash Rate at a high 5.50% for 2024 and 2025 to tackle ongoing inflation. Recent reports show New Zealand’s GDP growth for the second quarter slowed to just 0.5% year-over-year, raising expectations of potential rate cuts in the future. This economic uncertainty, along with Fonterra’s forecast of a slightly lower milk payout, continues to put pressure on the Kiwi dollar. Meanwhile, Fed Chair Powell’s recent neutral stance indicates that the US rate-hiking cycle that peaked in 2023 has ended, but rate cuts are not expected soon. While US inflation has cooled significantly from its peak, the September 2025 CPI data stayed at a stubborn 2.9%, keeping the Fed cautious. This difference in policy, where the RBNZ may need to cut rates sooner than the Fed, is likely to benefit the US Dollar. Create your live VT Markets account and start trading now.
